A heartwarming milestone was reached on October 16 when a chartered flight designed for pet owners and their furry friends landed in Zhongwei, Ningxia Hui Autonomous Region. This marked the first time such a service was offered at the local airport. The special flight, originating from Shanghai, carried 70 passengers and their 32 pets, allowing the animals to remain in the cabin alongside their owners throughout the trip. This pet-friendly approach has received widespread praise from pet lovers across China.

The idea for the flight came about when Juneyao Airlines received a proposal from China Travel Service Group in August. With the cooperation of Pudong Airport in Shanghai and Zhongwei Airport, the pet-friendly flight was successfully organized. A dedicated route was arranged, taking into account the specific requirements of passengers traveling with pets.

One of the passengers, Huang Jin, reflected the feelings of many, saying, “I want to bring my pets wherever I go because they are part of our family. Now that special flights for pets have been introduced, we can enjoy traveling to distant places with our dogs.”

To reserve a seat on this pet-friendly flight, passengers must ensure that their pets are properly registered and have up-to-date epidemic prevention certificates. Additionally, the animals must be placed in airline-approved carriers that meet size and strength regulations for air travel.

This new service not only provides a more comforting travel experience for pet owners but also highlights the airline industry’s increasing efforts to cater to the emotional needs of passengers. It represents a growing trend of including all family members, even the four-legged ones, in travel plans.
