The Shanghai Shentong Metro Group has announced that the Airport Link Line, part of the Shanghai Suburban Railway, will officially commence operations this Friday. This 68.6-kilometer railway line connects Hongqiao International Airport and Pudong International Airport, with an approximate travel time of 40 minutes between the two.

The operational section, spanning 59 kilometers, runs from Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 Station to Pudong Airport Terminals 1&2 Station and includes seven stations—five of which are underground and two above ground. During the initial phase, trains will run every 15 minutes, with services operating from 6 a.m. to 10:39 p.m. daily. The first and last trains will depart from both terminal stations at 6 a.m. and 10 p.m., respectively.

Currently, the line allows seamless in-fare zone transfers only with Metro Line 9 at Zhongchun Road Station. The transfer passage, located near Exit 4, requires about five minutes to navigate. For passengers traveling to Disneyland Resort, it is recommended to use Metro Line 11. Those utilizing the Airport Link Line should note that Shanghai International Resort Station is approximately 2.5 kilometers from Disneyland. Visitors can alight at this station and take Pudong Bus Line 50 or Line 70 to reach the destination.

The line prioritizes passenger convenience and accessibility. All stations are equipped with restrooms, blind-friendly pathways, and barrier-free facilities to assist passengers with special needs. Additionally, baby-care rooms are available at Hongqiao Airport Terminal 2 Station, Shanghai International Resort Station, and Pudong Airport Terminals 1&2 Station.

With the opening of the Airport Link Line, the total length of the Shanghai Metro network now reaches 896 kilometers, featuring 21 lines and 517 stations. Ticket prices for the Airport Link Line range between 4 yuan (approximately 55 US cents) and 26 yuan, depending on the travel distance.
