How to Apply for a Port E-visa

China has launched a port e-visa service in Shanghai for foreigners invited by enterprises at the Lin-gang Special Area of China (Shanghai) Pilot Free Trade Zone, effective July 12, 2024. So, how to apply for an e-visa?

About E-visa

1.Applicable Visa Categories
(1)Visit (F)
(2)Business and Trade (M)
(3)Talent (R)
(4)Work (Z)
(5)Private Affairs (S2)

2.Number of Entries Allowed
Single

3.Entry Validity
15 days from the date of issuance

4.Duration of Stay
Not exceeding 30 days

5.Port of Entry
All open ports in Shanghai

6.Port of Exit
Any open port in China

How to apply for an e-visa

Registered enterprises can submit visa application information on behalf of the applicants at the Online Platform for Government Affairs of the Exit-Entry Administration Bureau of the Shanghai Public Security Bureau.

After the electronic port visa is issued, enterprises can download the PDF file for the “Port E-Visa Confirmation letter”.
