Drunk Foreign Man Seeks Police Help After Losing His Way to Hotel Late at Night

In the early morning hours of February 1st, a foreign tourist approached the Qingshan Police Station seeking help. Officers quickly noticed that he was heavily intoxicated—his speech was slurred, and due to a language barrier, he struggled to express himself clearly.

The man eventually managed to show his passport, which revealed that he was a visitor from Tunisia. With the aid of a mobile translation app and some hand gestures, he told the officers that he had gone out for dinner earlier that evening, consumed too much alcohol, and ended up disoriented. Unable to remember how to return to his hotel, and finding himself alone in an unfamiliar part of the city late at night, he decided to turn to the police for assistance.

Officers used translation tools to maintain communication and reassure the man. Based on the little information he could provide about his accommodation, they were able to identify the correct hotel. Given his level of intoxication and lack of familiarity with the surroundings, the police arranged for a ride to take him directly back to his lodging to ensure his safety.

Before departing, the grateful tourist repeatedly gave the officers a thumbs-up and thanked them in Chinese. The officers also offered him friendly reminders to stay aware of his surroundings when walking alone at night and to take extra care with his personal safety, particularly after drinking.
