At Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, customs officers observed a foreign passenger acting suspiciously and exhibiting signs of anxiety during routine checks on an incoming flight. After questioning, the individual confessed to concealing drugs internally.
The suspect was immediately transferred to a specialized anti-smuggling unit and taken to a medical center for examination. Medical staff assisted in the expulsion of seven cocaine-filled pellets, which laboratory tests confirmed weighed 337.88 grams in total.
This case underscores the dangers of drug smuggling. As per Article 347 of China’s Criminal Law, any involvement in narcotics—whether smuggling, trafficking, transporting, or manufacturing—is punishable by law, irrespective of the amount. Customs urges citizens and travelers to remain vigilant against illegal drug activities.
