According to a report by the Colombian newspaper La Republica on April 18, Colombian Foreign Minister Laura Sarabia announced that the procedure to exempt Chinese citizens and those from other countries from visa requirements has been set in motion. Sarabia was quoted as saying that this decision, made in coordination with President Gustavo Petro, is aimed at boosting tourism, trade, and investment in Colombia. “We will continue to collaborate, as we always have, with a common vision and through smooth communication,” Sarabia added.
In response to inquiries regarding whether Chinese citizens with ordinary passports and service ordinary passports can enter Colombia visa – free, the Chinese Embassy in Colombia clarified on Wednesday that although the Colombian side has announced the start of the relevant procedures, the specific implementation details remain unclear.
