What began as an ordinary shopping trip turned into a horrifying ordeal for a woman in Hangzhou, China, when she was stabbed over 20 times by a stranger. Miraculously, doctors believe her breast implants played a key role in saving her life.
According to Taiwan-based news outlet ETtoday, the victim, surnamed Ma, was ambushed on May 22 in the parking lot of MIXC Mall in Zhejiang Province. The attacker allegedly held her at knifepoint, demanded she pay a parking fee, and forced her to leave the mall with him.
Chinese news outlet Litchi News reports that the incident occurred around 5:40 p.m., shortly after Ms. Ma had finished shopping. During the attack, she managed to seize a brief moment when the attacker was distracted to send a distress message to her boyfriend. Using their home computer, he tracked her location and immediately contacted the police, providing her exact coordinates.
When police arrived at the scene, the situation escalated. The suspect reportedly turned violent again, repeatedly stabbing Ms. Ma in the chest. She attempted to shield herself with her hands but was quickly overpowered. After managing to open the car door, she collapsed and lost consciousness.
She was rushed to the hospital with more than 20 stab wounds across her body. Doctors later revealed that her breast implants had absorbed much of the force from several potentially fatal blows, significantly reducing damage to her vital organs. Only one wound penetrated her lung, but it was not life-threatening.
Following the attack, the suspect reportedly took his own life. Police have since confirmed that the case has been closed.
