Police have detained seven foreign nationals on suspicion of breaking into a residential property located on Fung Kat Heung Road in Pat Heung, Hong Kong. The individuals were apprehended at the scene, with officers reportedly seizing stolen items as well as potential weapons during the operation.

The arrests took place shortly after a report was made in the early hours of the morning. At around 1:21 am, a 46-year-old woman surnamed Wu, who resides in a village house in the area, contacted emergency services upon finding unknown individuals inside her home. Police quickly arrived at the location and intercepted a private vehicle nearby, detaining all seven male occupants.

Authorities confirmed that those arrested come from diverse backgrounds, including Pakistan, India, Egypt, and France. Preliminary information suggests that most of them are holders of recognizance documents, which allow them to stay in Hong Kong legally while their immigration issues are under review. Only one of the suspects—a Pakistani national—is said to possess a Hong Kong identity card.

Officers conducted a search of the suspects’ vehicle and discovered several items believed to be linked to the crime. These included a knife, a hammer, two metal rods, a ring, two pairs of earrings, roughly HK110inlocalcurrency,andapproximately1,100yuaninmainlandChinesecurrency.ThecombinedestimatedworthoftherecoveredpossessionsisaroundHK20,000.

The detainees are being investigated on allegations of burglary and unlawful possession of offensive weapons. They are currently in custody as enquiries continue.

According to the police, the group consists of four Pakistani men aged between 19 and 36, one 21-year-old man from India, a 17-year-old from Egypt, and a 24-year-old French national.

The case has now been assigned to the Yuen Long District Crime Squad, specifically Team 5, for further investigation. Authorities are actively following up on leads to determine the full circumstances surrounding the break-in.
