Pet psychics in China offering services to communicate with deceased pets and determine if they’ve been reincarnated have stirred online debate. According to Jimu News, these psychics charge fees ranging from 128 yuan (US420) for unlimited queries over six months. Reincarnation checks cost between 899 yuan (US260). Many customers allege scams after being blocked or removed from service groups. One victim, Anran, whose Beagle, Qiqi, died in 2024, joined a group promoted by a user named Ling. After paying for communication services, Anran found the responses were based on her own past social media posts about Qiqi. When she didn’t dream of her dog’s reincarnation as promised, Ling blamed her lack of sincerity. Anran was eventually blocked after complaining.
