On July 31, the Inner Mongolia Traffic Police announced that a foreign national was recently apprehended for drunk driving by the Hulunbuir City Public Security Bureau’s Traffic Management Brigade, Central District Team.

During a routine check on Hailaer Street in the Hailaer District, officers stopped a vehicle and found that the driver was a foreigner. The driver, who had basic proficiency in Chinese, was informed by the police about the importance of complying with Chinese laws and the risks associated with driving under the influence. The officers then conducted a breathalyzer test, which showed a blood alcohol content of 64mg/100ml, indicating driving under the influence.

Further investigation revealed that the foreigner held a temporary Chinese driver’s license. In accordance with the law, the driver was fined 2,000 yuan, received 12 points on his record, and had his temporary driver’s license revoked.
