The State Taxation Administration (STA) announced on Sunday that China will implement the nationwide adoption of fully digitalized electronic invoices starting December 1.

These fully digitalized electronic invoices are a new format of e-invoice that hold the same legal validity as conventional paper invoices.

By digitizing all elements of invoice information, this updated electronic invoice format streamlines issuance processes and enhances user convenience.

Earlier this month, the STA also announced plans to extend the use of fully digitalized electronic invoices to railway passenger transportation services.
