A man from Hebei Province in northern China has become an internet sensation—not for winning a game of Xiangqi (Chinese chess), but for his remarkable reaction after losing one.
In a video shared by the South China Morning Post, the man can be seen asking his opponent to return to the table after their match. What followed was unexpected: he sat there for four hours, meticulously reconstructing the game. The table remained nearly unchanged as he carefully moved the pieces back to their positions, step by step, retracing the moves of the lost game.
Completely absorbed in thought, he remained undistracted even as a storm raged around him. In the video, he sits bareheaded through hail, wind, and pouring rain, deeply reflecting on his mistakes. Even his wife, who tries to get him to leave at one point, fails to pull him away. He’s too focused on analyzing the game he lost.
