A mutual visa exemption agreement between China and the Federated States of Micronesia will take effect on July 25. Under the deal, Chinese citizens with valid diplomatic, service, or official ordinary passports, as well as Micronesian citizens with valid diplomatic or official passports, will be exempt from visa requirements when entering, exiting, or transiting the other country. The visa-free stay is limited to 30 days from the entry date. Those planning to stay longer than 30 days or engage in activities requiring prior approval (such as employment, study, permanent residence, or journalism) must obtain a visa beforehand.
