According to the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), China’s top economic planner, the country will broaden its visa-free transit policy.
China plans to include more countries under its visa-free transit scheme and boost the number of inbound flights from major passenger source countries to improve entry and exit procedures. This information was disclosed in a circular issued on Monday by the NDRC and four other government bodies.
To further enhance the travel experience for international tourists, China will introduce additional high-quality inbound travel products and services.
The circular emphasized the need to improve foreign language street signs in public areas, such as popular tourist spots, restaurants, hotels, and airports.
It also recommended integrating multilingual services into map and navigation apps and improving ride-hailing services.
Regarding payment services, China aims to increase the acceptance of overseas bank cards in various venues and stores, making it easier for international visitors to access dining, accommodation, transportation, ticket purchases, and reservations, according to the circular.
