On Wednesday, China’s Ministry of Education released a notice. It pressed universities and local governments to step up military recruitment endeavors on campuses, further stoking the enthusiasm of college students to enlist and contribute to the country. The notice exhorts and leads students, especially graduating seniors, to actively join the military ranks.

As per the notice that was published on the official website of China’s Ministry of Education on Wednesday, college students are seen as a crucial talent reservoir for constructing a world – class military. The notice underlines that facilitating military recruitment among university students is a fundamental project for buttressing national defense and military modernization. It is a pivotal means of achieving the essential task of cultivating virtue through education and an effective way of expanding career development routes for young students.

The notice demands creating an all – encompassing recruitment environment. This can be done by setting up recruitment information stalls in main campus passageways, canteens, and dormitory areas. It proposes generating a robust recruitment ambience via measures like playing promotional videos, hanging banners, posting posters, and handing out brochures. Moreover, it advocates integrating recruitment drives into events such as freshman military training, campus job fairs, and graduation ceremonies to ensure targeted communication.

The notice also suggests customized promotional methods based on students’ academic levels and grade features. For graduating students, the spotlight should be on policies like educational subsidies for enlistment, opportunities for further education or resuming studies after discharge, employment support, along with incentives such as promotion to non – commissioned officers, eligibility for officer candidacy, and career progression in the military. For lower – grade students, the focus ought to be on enhancing national defense awareness.

The notice emphasized strict compliance with recruitment publicity regulations, making sure all promotional materials are genuine and precise. Exaggerating preferential policies or making false pledges is strictly forbidden. Universities and local governments must cooperate with local military service offices, keep a smooth “green channel” for enlistment, and finalize the recruitment registration for graduating students by the end of August.

Furthermore, the notice indicates that universities and local governments should consider student recruitment promotion, especially encouraging graduating students to enlist, as a key part of the larger initiative to boost employment and entrepreneurship and enhance service systems.
