This story shows that love can be found in the most unexpected places and with the most unlikely people.

A man in his twenties from Mainland China relocated to Shenzhen with hopes of starting his own business. However, he quickly discovered that things were much harder than he had anticipated.

A few years after moving, he found himself struggling to pay his rent. Fortunately, his landlady was understanding and allowed him more time to settle his payments.

The landlady, a divorcee in her forties, would often ask the man to help with various chores. Over time, their frequent interactions made the man feel a sense of warmth in the unfamiliar city.

Eventually, he began to develop romantic feelings for her and decided to pursue her.

At first, the landlady was reluctant to enter into a relationship, particularly because the man was nearly the same age as her son. She was also concerned about what others might think, so she initially rejected his advances.

But, as expected, the story didn’t end there.

Despite the 20-year age difference, the man continued to court her persistently.

In time, the landlady fell for him, and they started dating. Soon after, the couple got married.

With that, the young man, who had been struggling with his career, became a landlord overnight.

Their love story has since gone viral on Chinese social media, and the man has insisted in interviews that their relationship is based on genuine love and “has nothing to do with money.”

However, one can’t help but wonder—how does the landlady’s son feel about having a stepfather who’s his age?
