A man in central China has become a hot topic on social media. He had a heart attack and collapsed at a railway station. Surprisingly, the first words he uttered after being resuscitated were “I need to rush to work”.

The event took place on February 4, which was the last day of the eight – day Spring Festival holiday. The man was queuing to board a train at a railway station in Changsha, Hunan province when he suddenly collapsed on the platform.

According to the Xiaoxiang Morning Herald, several railway station staff and a doctor from a major local health center immediately came to his aid.

The man, who is in his 40s and whose identity remains unknown, regained consciousness after about 20 minutes.

What he said upon waking up astonished everyone present.

“I need to take the high – speed train to go to work,” he stated, and further said that he didn’t think it was necessary to go to the hospital.

The doctor on the scene informed the man that he might have sustained injuries from the fall, emphasizing that it was crucial for him to have a physical examination at the hospital.

Eventually, the man agreed to get into an ambulance.

Against the backdrop of high unemployment in China, the man’s story deeply resonated with many internet users.

“Oh my goodness, he woke up and the first thing on his mind was making money. I’m so touched!” one netizen commented.

“He is not the only one in this situation. Most of us have to shoulder heavy burdens, like mortgage payments and children’s education. Life is not easy for anyone,” another person wrote.
