The Chinese Embassy in Thailand issued a reminder on Saturday, cautioning Chinese citizens visiting Thailand to be vigilant against scams involving “high-paying job offers.” Travelers were warned not to believe false promises such as “high-paying jobs” or offers of “free tickets, meals, and accommodations,” in order to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.

The embassy emphasized that Chinese citizens in Thailand who face threats to their personal safety or legal rights should immediately report such incidents to the local police. They can also request assistance from friends or family in Thailand to file a police report on their behalf and contact the Chinese Embassy or consulates for further support, according to a statement published on the embassy’s official WeChat account.

The statement further highlighted the terms of the China-Thailand mutual visa exemption agreement. Under this agreement, activities like working or studying in Thailand, which require prior approval, must be accompanied by the appropriate visa before entering the country. Visitors entering under the visa exemption policy were advised not to engage in illegal employment or any other activities that violate the terms of the exemption.
