Shanghai Disney Resort revealed plans to implement a new real-name ticketing system, set to launch before the end of the year.

Currently, visitors can purchase up to five tickets using a single identity card, simplifying the process but also increasing the risk of scalping.

The forthcoming policy aims to enhance the visitor experience and align with governmental efforts to curb illegal commercial activities, according to the resort.

Under the new system, each guest must use their own official ID to buy a ticket, limited to one per day. Tickets can be purchased online or at the park.

Upon arrival at Shanghai Disneyland, guests will need to present the ID used for ticket purchase. This policy will apply to special tickets as well. For children’s tickets, the height requirement will be replaced by age as the sole criterion.

Children aged 3 to 11 years on their visit day will qualify for a child ticket, while those under 3 will enjoy free admission.

Opened in June 2016, Shanghai Disneyland is the first Disney resort in mainland China and the sixth worldwide.
