On Monday, President Vladimir Putin signed a decree enabling visa‑free entry to Russia for up to 30 days for a broad range of Chinese citizens—such as tourists, business travelers, academics, artists, and athletes. The measure, mirroring Beijing’s earlier visa‑free move for many categories of Russian citizens, will run until September 14, 2026. It does not apply to Chinese migrant workers, long‑term students, or those in the logistics and transport sector. China’s Foreign Ministry said in September it would grant visa‑free stays of up to 30 days to ordinary Russian passport holders for one year starting September 15.
