Police are investigating the death of a 54-year-old foreign man whose body—missing its head and left leg—was discovered during a heavy rainstorm in the upscale Kennedy Road area of Wan Chai on Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, the man’s remains were found beneath a tree outside his residence shortly after 7:00 AM. The case was reported by a cleaner who also lives at the same address.
Preliminary findings suggest the victim may have fallen from an apartment in the building, police said, noting that a handwritten note was recovered at the scene. An autopsy will determine the official cause of death.
Local media reported that uniformed officers were seen searching the rain-soaked street for the missing body parts. The left leg was later located across the road, in front of a nearby high school. Meanwhile, the Sing Tao Daily cited on-site sources as saying the man’s head appeared to have been lodged inside his torso.
