A stabbing incident occurred in Hong Kong on Monday morning, injuring two people and leading to the arrest of a suspect.

At around 7:29 a.m., police responded to reports of a man attacking a woman with a knife outside a shop on Pei Ho Street. The attacker fled toward the nearby Pei Ho Street Market after the assault.

When officers arrived, they found a female victim with hand wounds and an elderly woman complaining of discomfort after her hair was allegedly pulled by the suspect. Both were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Authorities searched the market and detained the suspect on the first floor. During the arrest, the man claimed to feel ill and was taken to a hospital for medical evaluation.

Police recovered evidence at a market stall, including bloodied towels, a face mask, and a sharp knife hidden inside a Styrofoam box, believed to be the weapon used.

Preliminary information suggests the suspect is a 20-year-old Indonesian national on a recognizance form, allowing temporary residence in Hong Kong while immigration proceedings are pending.

The incident has been classified as an assault, and authorities are investigating the motive behind the attack.
