A decoration company in China has drawn both laughter and attention online after transforming an empty swimming pool into a makeshift workspace. Employees at Luban Decoration Group, located in Chengdu, Sichuan province, have been conducting business from the “deep end” of the former pool, climbing out via the original ladders—a setup that has gone viral on social media.
The unusual office was revealed in a video posted by an employee, titled “Swimming Pool Turned Office Space.” The clip quickly gained traction, with many praising the company’s creativity. According to Cover News, the gym, pool, and office area are all situated on the same floor, connected by a glass door adjacent to the fitness center.
Despite its new purpose, the pool retains much of its original design, including faded signs labeling the “swimming area” and “deep water zone (1.55m).” Employees navigate the space using the pool’s handrails to reach their desks.
A staff member explained that the conversion was necessary due to ongoing renovations, with the setup in use for about two months. Viral photos and videos show five rows of eight fully functional workstations, powered by floor sockets and extension cords.
The quirky workspace has become a hit online, with many marveling at the company’s resourcefulness.
