According to local authorities and as reported by Xinhua News Agency, two passenger boats capsized in the Liuchong River in Qianxi City, located in Southwest China’s Guizhou Province, on Sunday afternoon.
As of 10:25 pm on Sunday, CCTV News reported that the accident had resulted in three fatalities, with 60 people hospitalized for treatment and 14 others still unaccounted for.
A separate report from CCTV News stated that the Guizhou Provincial Fire and Rescue Corps had dispatched eight teams to the accident site. These teams were equipped with 84 vehicles, 248 personnel (including 83 divers), 16 underwater robots, and 24 boats to carry out rescue operations.
