Two Chinese tourists were harassed by a drunk man on a Singapore bus, authorities confirmed. The incident, reported on May 21st, involved a man shouting racial slurs, including “Chinese people should not come to Singapore,” and attempting to snatch one victim’s phone.
Xiao Xie, one of the victims, recounted that she and her friend initially moved seats to avoid the man, who was making loud, incoherent noises and obscene gestures. Despite the sparse passenger count, they stayed silent out of fear. Upon reaching their stop, they quickly transferred to another bus—but the intoxicated man followed, even after the doors closed.
Police have received the complaint, and the case underscores rising concerns over tourist safety in Singapore.
